The Old ECW spirit is Still Alive
NY, NY - "ECW! ECW!" The chants that filled the ECW arena (bingo hall) in South Philly live on only in memory for most when they tune in to WWE's lite version of Extreme Championship Wrestling. Many refer to the broadcast as WWECW.
It seems that WWE is going in an a new direction with ECW, which if judged on its own and not as an ECW product would be fine; but many fans argue as to why the ECW banner is attached to the product.
Well, WWE may have swallowed up ECW, but they didn't swallow up the passion of the man behind the original ECW: Todd Gordon. Todd who started Extreme Championship Wrestling and eventually sold the company to Paul Heyman still runs wrestling events and some of the are straight up old school ECW type shows without the ECW name. They are under the Hardcore Homecoming name.
Those that have been begging for the Old ECW to come back have to look no further. All the original ECW favorites are back in classic form doing battle in South Philly in what may very well be the world's most famous bingo hall.
There are two Hardcore Homecoming DVDs of these events and also a Forever Hardcore DVD. They will satisy the hunger of any hardcode ECW fan. "Get the tables!"
